HPCSA Registration

All practitioners at Mint & Marine Dental Studio are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) within their respective scopes of practice. Registration with the HPCSA is a legal requirement for all healthcare practitioners in South Africa and ensures that practitioners meet the required educational, ethical, and professional standards.

About the HPCSA

The Health Professions Council of South Africa is a statutory body established under the Health Professions Act, 56 of 1974. Its primary mandate is to protect the public by ensuring that registered health professionals are qualified, competent, and comply with ethical standards. The HPCSA maintains a public register of all registered practitioners which can be searched online.

Scope of Practice Periodontal assessment and treatment; scaling; local anaesthesia; vital tooth whitening; minimally invasive restorations (ART); pit and fissure sealants — within the full HPCSA-regulated extended functions scope

Holds Extended Functions registration, permitting independent practice within an expanded scope as regulated by the HPCSA.

All practitioners at Mint & Marine Dental Studio are bound by the HPCSA Ethical Rules of Conduct for Practitioners Registered under the Health Professions Act. These rules govern professional conduct, advertising, informed consent, patient confidentiality, and the standard of care expected of registered health professionals.
